Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations for Children, Adolescents, and Adults

In Garden City, New York with Virtual Appointments Available

Every evaluation begins with a clinical interview and consultation to determine the most appropriate assessment measures based on your concerns and referral questions.

The Evaluation Process

Step 1: Complimentary 15-Minute Consultation

I begin with a complimentary phone consultation to learn about your concerns, answer your questions, and discuss whether a psychological evaluation is appropriate for you or your child. I’ll explain the process, fees, and what to expect so you can make an informed decision about moving forward.

Common reasons for an evaluation include: concerns about ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning difficulties in reading, writing, or mathematics, intellectual disabilities, anxiety, mood, and other developmental or psychological concerns. Evaluations can also help inform school accommodations and IEP/504 planning.

Step 2: Clinical Interview

I meet with you to better understand your or your child’s history, current experiences, strengths, and goals. We’ll discuss relevant developmental, medical, educational, emotional, social, and family history. This conversation helps me tailor the evaluation to the questions you want answered.

Step 3: Testing Appointment

I create a comfortable, supportive testing environment and select standardized, evidence-based assessment measures based on your concerns. The length and number of appointments depend on the purpose and scope of the evaluation.

Step 4: Scoring and Interpretation

I carefully score and interpret the assessments, bringing together testing results, our interview, behavioral observations, and relevant records, such as school reports or previous evaluations. I use this information to understand patterns across cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

Step 5: Feedback Session

I meet with you to explain the findings, discuss any diagnoses, and answer your questions. Together, we’ll review what the results mean for you or your child and explore practical, individualized recommendations for school, work, home, and daily life.

Step 6: Comprehensive Written Report

I provide a detailed written report that brings together relevant history, assessment findings, diagnostic impressions when applicable, and personalized recommendations. I typically complete reports within one to two weeks of the final testing session.

With your permission, I can share the report with physicians, therapists, schools, colleges, or other professionals to help coordinate care and guide treatment, educational accommodations, and support services.
