Do you offer telehealth sessions for therapy?

Yes! TP Psychology offers virtual therapy sessions via Doxy.me, a HIPAA-compliant platform.

Do I need to complete a psychological evaluation in order to begin therapy?

No, TP Psychology provides individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults without any evaluation requirements.

What is included in the evaluation?

Every evaluation is tailored to the individual's needs. Depending on the referral concerns, the evaluation may include a clinical interview, cognitive and academic testing, attention and executive functioning measures, emotional and behavioral assessment, review of records, and a comprehensive written report.

How do I know what kind of evaluation my child needs?

Parents do not need to know exactly which evaluation their child needs before contacting TP Psychology. During the initial consultation, concerns are discussed, relevant history is reviewed, and the most appropriate evaluation is determined based on the referral concerns and presenting needs.

How long will the evaluation take?

The entire evaluation process typically takes 2–6 weeks from the initial intake appointment to the feedback session, depending on the referral concerns, testing needs, scheduling availability, and the timely receipt of records and questionnaires.

Testing is typically completed over two or more appointments and generally lasts 4–8 hours total, depending on the scope of the evaluation. Following testing, additional time is dedicated to scoring, interpreting results, reviewing records, integrating clinical findings, and preparing a comprehensive written report. A feedback session is then scheduled to review the results, discuss recommendations, and answer any questions.

What kind of recommendations should I expect at the end of the evaluation?

Depending on your needs, recommendations may include: school accommodations, personal strategies, workplace accommodations, therapy recommendations, executive functioning strategies, study/organizational techniques, medical consultation recommendations, or community resources.
