Step 1- 15-minute Consultation

TP Psychology begins with a complimentary phone consultation to discuss each individual's concerns, answer general questions, and determine whether a psychological evaluation is appropriate for the individual or their child. During this conversation, the evaluation process, fees, and expectations are reviewed to ensure that the practice's services are the right fit for each family's or individual's needs.

Common Reasons for Referral: assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), academic accommodations (IEP/504 planning), anxiety related disorders, depressive and mood related disorders, specific learning disorders (deficits in reading, written expression, or mathematics), intellectual disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental and psychological disorders

Step 2- Clinical Interview

The evaluation begins with a comprehensive clinical interview to develop a thorough understanding of the individual's or child's history and presenting concerns. The interview explores relevant medical, developmental, educational, psychological, social, behavioral, and family history, as well as current strengths, challenges, and goals to help guide the evaluation process.

Step 3- Testing Appointment

Testing is conducted in a comfortable, individualized setting using evidence-based, standardized assessment measures selected specifically for your referral concerns. The length and components of testing vary depending on the purpose and scope of the evaluation.

Step 4- Scoring and Interpretation

Assessment results are carefully scored and interpreted using standardized procedures. Findings are integrated with your clinical interview, behavioral observations, and any relevant records (i.e. school reports, medical history, or prior evaluations) to develop a comprehensive understanding of you or your child’s cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

Step 5- Feedback Session

Once the evaluation is complete, a feedback session is scheduled to review the results in detail. During this meeting, findings are explained, diagnoses are discussed when appropriate, questions are addressed, and practical, individualized recommendations are provided to support success at school, work, home, or in daily functioning.

Step 6- Comprehensive Report

Following the feedback session, a comprehensive written report is provided summarizing the evaluation, including relevant background information, assessment findings, diagnostic impressions (when applicable), clinical interpretation, and individualized recommendations. Reports are typically completed within one-to-two weeks of the final testing session to ensure timely access to results. With the individual's or parent's permission, the report may be shared with physicians, therapists, schools, colleges, or other professionals to help guide treatment planning, educational accommodations, and support services.
